I will have
Honolulu County, Hawaii
Note this is the same bill that I had tried to claim for St. Lucie Florida, which Tim beat me to!!

Yes, I did beat him to Petersburg.
Re: Yearlong County Contest
Well,
I am reading directly from the database, whatever hit is the 1st in a county. And on May 18th (time of my Petersburg hit) it was the 1st hit in 2011 for this county.
Did not try to cheat But it was a nice try, was it not?

Mighta been the first hit...but I claimed it before you did. Posted it on June 3. You snooze you lose...them's da roolz.
Yes, a nice try, though.
P.S. The reason for this is...suppose, later on...someone posts up a hit for a county you claimed...and their hit happened before yours. You wouldn't want me to take your hit away and credit it to the other person. Likewise, if a new contestant joined up...you wouldn't want to lose five or six claims, just because they got them hit before you. So I put it in the rules that the first person who POSTS...gets the hit.
Note, I twice got burned by this one in the past week, with Tony getting Baldwin, AL...and Tim getting St. Lucie, FL before me. Not really sure (I didn't look) if their hits were also BEFORE mine....but, no matter, they POSTED first so they get them. Ya snooze ya lose. I might make an expression of frustration, but they got them fair and square.

Re: Yearlong County Contest
OK...folks...I know it has been a while since I did an update...so I will do one tomorrow....and then another on July 1, after June 30 claims are done, so I can set handicaps.
Sorry I haven't pulled an update, BUT...the reason is I got my first client for my medical transcription company that I started (yes, I am now officially in business as the President/Owner of my LLC) and I have spent the past few days with setting up my end of the software, setting up their end of it...and doing the training on both ends. Just completed my very first transcription for my new client, and things now appear to be running smoothly, so I should be able to work back into a routine!!
This is the first step onto a path I began as a dream two years ago - and now that the software has all proven to be working, and able to be installed and used properly....I can start getting clients. Incidentally, this is not an advertisement for business, as my company services doctors' offices...and only in my local area. I may be old-fashioned in this, but I prefer to provide local, personal, in-person, in-office support to my customers...as opposed to having them call and wait on hold forever on some tech support line...or dropping a ticket into a queue and waiting till someone feels like answering it.
Anyway...as a result of all this, I have been forced to put all other things on hold...which included updating this. But now that I'm thru all the set-up and training, I should be able to get back on track....so, my apologies for the lack of updates to this point.

This does not go to the bill report. but I looked on the User List and found your hit, so I am crediting this one.
Re: Yearlong County Contest
Arrg, I try to make sure I don't include the full linkage into the user note. Sorry.Kalisiin wrote:

Re: Yearlong County Contest
You don't waste any time, do you, Tony? I am beginning to think even the handicaps aren't going to help!
And here you are...."o...I hope I don't get screwed, my hits are gonna dry up..."
YEAH, RIGHT!!!
Sorry, but I really wish they WOULD dry up!
You outdid me by only FOURTEEN hits last update!!
Damn me for sounding a bit like a poor sport, but you are really frustrating the HELL out of me, Tony, and that's the bloody truth!

Well, if I hadn't joined the contest, you'd be kicking everyone else's butts. There's a big gap between you and Markus. The contest would still be a runaway. The only difference, as I see it, is who's running away with the contest, at least until the handicapps are applied.

and I'd be wringing my hands over it if I were running away, too.
In FACT...I'd be wringing my hands about it more...because it would look bad...being as I am the administrator of this contest.
Truth be known, I am wringing my hands over the fact that it is you and me...and no one else has a chance. We could declare the contest closed...and you first place and me second place right now...unless we do something to shake things up and bring it all closer.
The way I am handicapping...would currently put me barely in first place over you (and no big deal, you'd reclaim it in no time flat) - but it would put EVERYONE within ten points of each other.
See the discussion thread for handicapping detail.

Re: Yearlong County Contest
I also can't believe it took me this long to grab
Hunterdon County, NJ
Now if someone (hopefully me) could grab cape may...we'd have our first state bingo in the contest.
