December 2012 Hits: Cooperative County Challenge

This will be far different that last time, as there will be no prizes, no winners, no losers, no entry fee, all may participate.

Simply, we will collectively try to fill in as much of the map as we can...just post up your county hits.

In order to eliminate any form of competition whatsoever, there will be no standings page, you can keep track of your own if you want to. The map will be colored in as counties are hit...a different color for whatever month the county was hit in - the color will not indicate WHO got the hit.

This way there is just cooperation, no competition....nothing to create possible bad feelings.

My original intent with this, last year...was simply to bring more people to the forums more frequently and try to build a little community. The competition aspects made this effort backfire, and I regret that.

Hopefully, this way, there will be no bad feelings, cooperation over competition...and we can try to build something together.

All who wish to participate may do so...those who do not wish to participate....that is your choice, you are welcome to participate. Please post links to the hits.

As before, we will have a map and a spreadsheet, so that one may see which counties have already been hit....but nothing on the map or spreadsheet will indicate WHO got the hit...thus competition is totally eliminated...and, along with it....any reason for bad feelings.

Please specify any hits for November or previous months, thanks.

Next Year, we will begin fresh, but Counties hit in 2012 will appear white instead of grey on the map.
After they are hit in 2013, they will be colored according to their month.

I think we are gonna miss my hopeful 1000 counties for the year, but, we shall just have to get more players for next year!

Next year, all counties will start off "open" again, but the map will look slightly different.
Counties that are unhit in 2013 will be either gray or white on the map - if white, it means they WERE hit in 2012, if gray, then they weren't hit in 2012.

Once a white or gray county is claimed for 2013, it will be colored according to the month hit, as has always been the case with this.

Let's see if we can hit 30 percent this year!!

Well, again...participation is voluntary. You posting on Markus' behalf is not him posting voluntarily.
I know he's very busy, hence his non-participation., However, you have done all the work for him...SO...if he just authorizes your posting...at that point he is voluntarily participating.

SO...if you wouldn't mind, see if you can get Markus to okay this.

I'm sure he would not mind...but, still...because participation is voluntary....as you note, you would not get Darrell into this...and you also wouldn't post Darrell's claims, would you?

So...I'm thinking - ordinarily, I'd ask Markus top post the whole list...but I'm willing to bend the rules a bit, knowing how busy Markus is...just an authortizing post from him, and I'll include them, okay?

I wish Darrel would get involved with this, but he's so busy working multiple jobs, and with his children, he just doesn't have the time. I don't know how he finds the time to enter so many bills. I'm not sure he ever sleeps.

Maybe you could talk him into it for next year.
