Re: Suspected Fake Hits Thread
To what end?
There have been forum threads discussing fakes with no interest (and Support Team requests).
One of Our Fellow Tracker$ Couldn't Wait for Legitimate Hits Today
YouTube Hit Parade
That one even had forum users at another tracking site - at least those with their sarcasm filters on the fritz - thinking it was showing serious support of these types of hits.
The Top 10 Lists are replete with examples of obviously fake hits.
22 Hours From Thailand to Florida
Arizona to Uganda and Back in Under 6 Minutes
Cali to NY in 18 Minutes with Amazingly Similar User Notes (more chaopeter824 shenanigans)
skolasinski Managed to Get a Bill from Michigan to Hawai'i in Under 3 Hours
Woo hoo! My First Ever Antarctica Hit!
…just to give a few examples.
I've just taken to updating my user note to indicate fake hits.

To what end? Hope springs eternal and all that. But, then, I am probably barking up the wrong tree in regard to getting the attention of the Admin

chaopeter, again
Okay, let's play.
Seeing a significant spike in site-wide hits yesterday, I see that chaopeter824 is back with a hit/entries rate exceeding my own thanks to obviously fake entries. Examining his "Hits within the previous 45 days" chart on his profile page is an exercise in .
An example:
http://www.trackdollar.com/report.htm?url=BH6BF55E21C0D0A834047BE2055A4A52193CE6FB00&sess=0016C1CCB1
The distinct pattern of the user notes is what suggests to me that chaopeter284 is massively generating his own hits.

I understand the frustration, Darth. Unfortunately, due to the looser rules here at TD, this probably can't be stamped out. Admin is pretty hands-off and that, in my view, is a lot better than the alternative.

No problems, dude. It is far better to have discussions. My OP point had more to do with bogus Denom./Series/FRB/Block combos. Re-reading my OP post didn't make that very clear.Darth Slurpee wrote:You asked.

Re: Suspected Fake Hits Thread
Then if that's the case, check out the site's Summary on the denomination report. There you'll find the elusive $0 bill.
There are two phantom "no Series" bills in there along with five imaginary 1966 and three 1966A.
There are also eight bills that don't belong to one of the twelve FRBs.
There are a pair of oddball A block letter bills, a stray star note, six Os and three Z test notes logged in here on the Block Letter report.
I guess my confusion came from the thread title, asking for identification of Fake Hits. These errors for which you're looking almost by necessity have to be fake initial entries, and only if someone made the same "mistake" hitting them would they be hit fakery. None of these have been hit.
I'm glad we got that straightened out. I didn't mean to veer off-topic with my posts.

Again, no problems. I probably had something stuck in my gums when I originally posted. I really would love clean data, followed closely by real hits.

Re: Suspected Fake Hits Thread
You'll get no argument from me on those. I get tired of getting an exotic hit — especially when it's a first for the site — only to check the entry IP to find that it's a complete lie.
