Issues with the marking style selectors
I like the marking style selectors at the bottom of the bill entry pages (and the bill report initial entries)
It helps stat tracking of different marking methods, and it can be easier than describing that in the user note.
However, it's not perfect.
They're not user-editable in case of a mistake, besides deleting the bill and re-entering it, which obviously doesn't work after a few days.
If you select 'not marked' for any one of them, it's nonsensical to have a selection for the others. Purple text stamp on no sides for example. Forgetting to make a selection for a category is one type of mistake It would be nice if this threw an error message.
Also, the list of color options is over the top.

Re: Issues with the marking style selectors
I agree. I had a few bills I first entered on the site that I didn't get the info right on. I had marked the bills, but the report said I didn't and I can't fix it.
Re: Issues with the marking style selectors
Also:
The marking style selector doesn't account for using multiple styles on a bill (say, hand written on the front and text stamp on the back). In that case I will use not marked even though it's inaccurate.
I use sherlocked for marked with another site, the closest option that doesn't confuse with TD marked bills. That doesn't offer as much detail and could cause confusion with a standard sherlock.

Re: Issues with the marking style selectors
My marking styles didn't seem to align with the choices available, so I abandoned their use.

Re: Issues with the marking style selectors
Yeah, a lot of people don't use them. Now that I think about it, the issues I point out would help explain the low use.
Re: Issues with the marking style selectors
If we had some user-defined options open to us, I would find the marking indicators to be very, very useful. Of course, I'd also need the ability to update them after I marked them. I don't always know how I'm going to mark my bills when I'm entering them. That's a decision usually saved for later.
