I must be a "new" user to editboard and have restricted rights here
So I found out that some of you can delete your own posts.
I can't. All I get for my posts is QUOTE and EDIT at the top right.
I think there's a mechanism in place here that stops new people from having that power.
Seems maybe I need to post another 100 messages or something?
If you can, can you permission me to delete my own posts? (Just in the Missouri counties hit page if its an issue for all)
Otherwise, is there a time limit, number of posts I have to make before I can do that?
Did any of you out there find one day you could delete your posts on your own?
I was just wondering. I looked on editboard.com and didn't find much at all there on that topic. Its a huge site with lots of stuff there.
Thanks.
Jack

According to the Editboard FAQ:
Even with that said, I will see what I can do to help you out. If you need me to, I can delete (at least in the "Counties" forum) any posts you would like.
Editboard FAQ wrote:How do I edit or delete a post?
Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it. This will only appear if no one has replied; it also will not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

Don't go to any trouble, dctim, I was just wanting info if someone knew about it.
I saw that FAQ right after I posted this. It isn't even consistant with the actual board. I can edit my posts after they have been replied to. Not what the FAQ said.
Other users are saying they can delete their posts. *shrug* Its odd.

I hadn't noticed.
But you could always edit your posts to take out all content, and replace with "deleted by poster"
UPDATE: If you have a small X you can click, right next to your Edit and Quote Buttons, then you can Delete.
It doesn't SAY Delete...just a small X.
Hope this helps!
