getting your wilds back Empty getting your wilds back

If I get back a bill I've already entered on a site, I look it up and update the user note. I get my own $2 wilds back relatively often. Yesterday, I got 4 I had EMSed on WG this spring, long before I started with TD, so I gave them new TD entries. I often enter bills on both sites, but usually around the same time. Soon after I started TD, I got back some bills from soon before I started, but this kind of thing hadn't happened before.

I used to get a few of my wilds back when I got my straps from the bank in Pen Argyl...maybe one in every 1000 bills would be one of mine. Since I started getting my straps at the bank in Bath instead of Pen Argyl, this hasn't happened. And since I spend almost exclusively $1 bills, I seldom get paper change.

Updating your user note is always okay on getting your own bills back - I have done this myself. Entering it on the other site would seem to be okay, too. You might want to be careful to not "overmark" your bills - Hank on WG? got mad at me for overmarking my bills, when another Georger got hold of one of my bills and described it...early in my currency tracking "career." Likewise, Hank got upset about MARKING bills for both sites. So you may want to keep that in mind.

I know that Markus here at TD has no problem with dual-entered, and even dual-marked bills. Hank is another matter though. As a suggestion, if you were to dual-enter and dual mark bills, I would be careful not to over-stamp them...and mark it only for one site on one side...and the other site on the other side.

I know that dual-entering and dual-marking will get you in no trouble whatsoever here at TD. Can't speak for WG. I can only give you my own experience with this.

I often enter bills on both sites, but I always mark them with one or the other if I mark them at all. Amongst other things, that means I don't add TD markings to these old bills that already have WG markings.

Just got another one. Seeing Grandma for Thanksgiving. She still has a bill I entered, marked and returned on August 17th. I started TD on August 29th.

For the FIRST TIME EVER (well over Ten Years of bill tracking) I finally got two of my bills directly back to me, less than 5 days after release.

The cashier at the cash-only (execpt for monthly parkers) parking garage had them stuffed away in her zipper pouch.

I guess this means just one thing - she only gets my Twenties from now on!

It also might be a contributing factor as to why my February hits are HALF of normal.

Yeah, knowing how a particular place recirculates my bills does influence which bills I spend there in the future.

For instance, I've figured out which banks a couple local stores deposit at, because I get back form those banks bills I spent at those stores.
