May/June Hits: Cooperative County Challenge 2012
This will be far different that last time, as there will be no prizes, no winners, no losers, no entry fee, all may participate.
Simply, we will collectively try to fill in as much of the map as we can...just post up your county hits.
In order to eliminate any form of competition whatsoever, there will be no standings page, you can keep track of your own if you want to. The map will be colored in as counties are hit...a different color for whatever month the county was hit in - the color will not indicate WHO got the hit.
This way there is just cooperation, no competition....nothing to create possible bad feelings.
My original intent with this, last year...was simply to bring more people to the forums more frequently and try to build a little community. The competition aspects made this effort backfire, and I regret that.
Hopefully, this way, there will be no bad feelings, cooperation over competition...and we can try to build something together.
All who wish to participate may do so...those who do not wish to participate....that is your choice, you are welcome to participate. Please post links to the hits.
As before, we will have a map and a spreadsheet, so that one may see which counties have already been hit....but nothing on the map or spreadsheet will indicate WHO got the hit...thus competition is totally eliminated...and, along with it....any reason for bad feelings.
Please specify any hits for May or previous months, thanks.

Spreadsheet Link...................Link to Full Size Map
Spreadsheet current thru Manitowoc County, Wisconsin thru 6/16.
Map is colored in up thru Manitowoc, WI (6/16). Next Map update will be around 6/30/12.
Currently, we still need a hit in Vermont, and all territories/military areas except PR and DC.

Ahhh....my favorite Texas County...
I used to say that it was once called "Smith Running Around With Lit Firecrakers In His Ears County"
Actually, the historical significance, in case you're interested, is that Deaf Smith was a spy for the Texian Army during the Battle of the Alamo. (and yes, I did spell that right, it was the Texian Army.) By the way, he wasn't really deaf, it was just a nickname.

May Hit:
Union County, Pennsylvania
This bill, I can track beautifully...I gave it to a lady standing behind me in line for Wheel of Fortune tryouts. I know because we were talking about her grand-daughter, and how she was trying to collect a bill from each FRB for her grand-daughter...and she was looking for a D bill...so I whipped out my handy stack of pre-marked TrackDollar bills and whipped a D bill her way. I'm glad she also hit it for me!!
She even got it into Union County for me...I had been moaning that I'd been robbed of a Union County hit on WG because there, they count Allenwood, PA as Lycoming County, rather than Union County.
This one is just too sweet.

Karnes County, Texas
Hummm...I know there is a large state prison in Kenedy, TX. A while back, when I was living in Texas, seven inmates escaped from there and killed a State Trooper. They later were captured in Colorado.

I feel your frustration. I am still frustrated that I can't manage a Vermont hit.

By my accounting, the most direct route would be hits in Union County, PA -- Trumbull County, OH -- Ottawa County, OH (or Wood County, OH)

Noting here that last month we achieved Trumbull, OH....and this month, Union, PA. Maning that if we can get Wood, OH....or Ottawa, OH - we will join Electric Red's glob with the mega-glob of mine and dctim's - adding Electric Red's glob into the mega-glob.
There's also a mega-glob out west, but it belongs largely to tony, with a few in there from the rest of us, most notably, Dave.
