2014 Cooperative County Challenge - January Hits

Anyway we could get the counties hit in 2012 but not 2013 in black or something? If this is the way you are doing it that is fine but just wondering. I have really had a hit dry spell lately.

Can't do that.

The county lines are in black, and thus, coloring a whole county black would interfere with the fill function on the Counties.
Also it was hard enough to come up with thirteen different colors that will not "splatter" in the gif format.

Splattering also ruins the fill function.

Sometime try fooling around with a map, yourself, with the Paint program, and you will see what I mean.

This is why I decided, only the previous year hits would be white.  All 2012 white counties that were NOT hit in 2013 went back to gray.
I'm sorry there is nothing else I could really do with this...but my options ARE somewhat limited.

The only way something different could be done is if another map were made...and different colors used...to indicate the YEAR in which it was first hit.  And I invite you to try this if you like.  The Spreadsheet DOES list all counties previously hit, by year, since the Cooperative Challenge started in 2012...so the data is there for you.

In fact, if you want to do this, I can even supply you with a totally blank map to start from.

Update Completed!!
We have nailed 61 Counties so far...

Alan, and other new players:  Now that the Spreadsheet has been updated, you will not have to look prior to this post to look for Counties already taken, they will be listed on the Spreadsheet.
This pattern will be repeated throughout the year.  Normally, you will not have to look back further than 2-3 weeks.
You will never have to look further back than an Update Post like this one.

By the way, new players:  We normally start a new thread for every month.  If the update is not done by the time February starts, you will continue to post February hits in this thread.  After the update happens, this thread will be locked and a new one opened. (I normally start the new thread even before the current one is locked)

Once you see the Update in Progress, you will need to hold any hits for the new thread, because they would then get missed here.  As this progresses, you will see how this all works.  Glad to have you new players along!  Please ask myself or any other veteran player if you need any help or have any questions.

Another map yes, however this may confuse people if done now. How about this, at the end of the year show the map combining all three years so we can see what counties were never hit. Keep the 2014 map just make a second one, if you feel up to it. Otherwise looks good.

If anyone wants to see what counties haven't been hit on TD, they can click on the site-wide profile, and look at that county map.
It is just plain too time consuming to do it any way other than I am currently doing it. so if you'd like to maintain a separate map showing all Counties ever hit in the Challenge, regardless of year...you may do so.

The Spreadsheet contains all the data, from the beginning, 2012...and I can supply you with a blank county map to start with.

The county I currently live in, but ZIP code reports to Maricopa. In a month that will change, moving to a new ZIP code deeper into Pinal...

Yup. But grab it quick.
It won't stay on my hosting site very long. Generally, I would delete it off my hosting site at the next update at the end of the month.

So grab it before then, and you're good!
