Got 5 hits from a new user. All my previous hits have been from guests or established users. I sent this user a welcome message.

A nice story on that user note, and sounds like a realy nice guy...not only figuring out who the phone belonged to and returning it...but then giving the reward money, willingly,,,to the guy who actually found the phone instead of pocketing it himself.

sounds like your benefactor is one of those rare people that keep a kindle of hope alive in me for the fate of the human race.

It's just a small thing....but if everyone had as much integrity as this guy appears to...what a world we would have, eh?

Dad lost his phone, got it back and handed out reward money, and my user notes mentioning Dad make it clear that these bills were involved. Beyond that, I'm not sure what's going on.

Well, it says right in the user note "I'll be giving the money to the person who actually found the phone...we just figured out how to find the owner."

True. it might be between friends/relatives instead of strangers though.
Dad hadn't been sure about the story he got when he went to pick the phone up.

Possible, I guess, but you'd think the user might have then said "going to give this to my brother, who actually found the phone" rather than "to the guy who actually found the phone."

Oh, well....I guess I'm searching for a glimmer of light and hope - call me cynical if you want.
