Unusual find
I am sorting a strap of $1 bills and came across two Series 1993 bills. I've only had one before, and site wide there have been only 23. And even more of a surprise is that both of them are in really good shape. Funny how these things work.

Re: Unusual find
Wow! And now I just found a Series 1988. My 1st and only the 9th site wide. I'm having a nice day finding some bills that are a little more scarce.

Re: Unusual find
After sorting through more than 50,000 bills, I finally found a 1969 and a 1969B. They were found in back-to-back straps, in the same FRB brick. I found a 1969D quite some time ago. Maybe I'll find the 1969A and 1969C before going through another 50,000 bills. Maybe.
Also, this is the first time I'm getting straps with a majority of 2009 bills. It's a small majority, 51-54 bills are 2009 per 100, but it's a nice change of pace from 65-75 2006 bills everytime. Prior to this, I've only gotten one strap that had a majority of another series. It was about 60 2003A. Also, had a strap that had "only" 48 2006 bills, with the other 52 bills mixed between several series.
Has anyone else got any straps that were not mostly 2006 bills? Or does anyone keep track?

I get a LOT of 2009 bills.
I think that in the straps I get they are 95% 2009 and 2006...with more 2009's than 2006's.
I'll have to look at the numbers to confirm this...this is just an impression.
Re: Unusual find
I have not done straps in quite some time. Most of my ones are change from the twenties I spend. In my small sample size, I am still seeing more 2006 than 2009, but the 09's are making headway. I have not seen anything older than a 1995 in quite some time.

Interestingly enough...I just got five hundred in fresh bills - well...fresh meaning not marked...anyway, I found a 1969D bill in this bunch...and it is in pretty dang good shape.
I might have to scan this one so you guys can see...of course I will have to obscure the serial number.
Re: Unusual find
The 1969 and 1969B I found were in great shape, too. Strangely enough, in a seperate strap, but the same brick, I found a 1974, 1993, and a 1995, all in a row. The 1974 is in good shape. The 1993 and 1995 are as crispy and new looking as most of the 2009 bills I'm getting. It's like they were part of someone's collection, though neither of the bills are web notes.

I forget...someone posted something about this before, but...what is a web note, and how do you tell?
