We got a hit!
Our 18 day hitless streak is over! It's time for a parade. A 7 gun salute. Ok, maybe not, but I'm still happy.

Hi,
congrats, and a new state too.
I am sure that the airport job will give you soon an international hit too.

Here are some rules of thumb I go by ...
(1) Keep your Bills Entered approximately the same every month
(2) To calculate trends of hits you will most likely need 6 full months at the steady state of bill entering
(3) Subtract approximately 90 days from the current date (December 09) and use that month and the two previous to calculate your trend
Example:
I averaged 200 Bills Entered a month in Oct, Nov, Dec 09. Of the 46 Hits I recieved from the bills in those months, it took about 33 days for me to recieve exacly 50 % of those hits.
If you extrapolate, you can "guess" at how many bills you will get hit. The two major components are (1) average number of days it takes to get a hit and (2) number of bills in circulation.
You control both by getting more bills out there and by doing it consistantly every month.
Hope this wasn't too technical.

Hi,
nice formula to produce a report lets say like:
How much TrackPoints will I have in 30,60,90,360 days, and what Rank will I be?
Perhaps we should ass something like that to TrackDollar.com

Re: We got a hit!
Just to clarify, the algorithim I described is like a Bell Curve.
If my Average Speed of Hits in days is 48.71 (mine), by the time a set of bills is that old, I should receive approximately HALF of all the hits I will EVER receive on them. Sure there will be exceptions at either end of the Bell Curve and only the very beginning gets to Zero.
A user can reduce their average by Entering more bills, stamping them clearly and releasing them where they will be found and hit.
As I tried to describe above it can take months to establish a predictable Average Speed in Days.

I didn't find that too technical. It's just that I need to be patient and wait. Much easier said than done.
I found it strange too that they said they weren't going to spend it. Maybe they are the rare collector of muddy bills.

LOL If i found some muddy ol' dollar on the street i would spend it asap. Maybe rinse it off first if it was just too bad but I wouldn't keep it. i don't know some people collect some strange things.k30grif wrote:I didn't find that too technical. Re: We got a hit!
No kidding. I get some strange looks from coworkers when someone asks if I have change for whatever, and I pull out 30 singles, all with a hot pink TrackDollar.com stamp on them. Oh, well. They have their change for the vending machine, and I have more bills in circulation.
