Contiguous Counties

This is something that piques my interest from time-to-time. How many Contiguous Counties do you have hits in?

Contiguous - as in "shares a border". I personally would not count counties that just share a corner (upper right & lower left), but to each their own.

Note 1. Did not include Centre, Huntingdon, Blair, and Cambia, PA - Centre County barely touches a corner of Lycoming County.

Note 2. Did not include Washington County, MD and Berkeley County, WV - Loudoun county, VA only touches a corner of Washington County, MD)

Note 3. Disregard notes 1 and 2 above, all mentioned Counties have now been tied into my glob.

Note 4: I have a huge glob (two of them) in Florida...but no way to hook them into my main glob.

So, mine covers 89 counties in 8 states plus DC - and by some counts, could actually cover 95 counties in 9 states plus DC.

So, by the most conservative count - 89 counties in 8 states plus DC

EDIT: Just noticed, on 3/21 -I can add Seneca County, NY to my glob. Do not know exactly when I got the hit, but now my glob is up to 90. Update: go the hit last year, in December.

EDIT: I just got to add Yates county, NY today, so now I'm at 91. This does not, unfortunately, allow me to add any other stragglers to my glob, it hooks up with Seneca and Steuben in NY which I already have.

EDIT: I now get to add Tioga County, NY - taking me to 92. It also hooks up with Broome County in NY but I already had that in my glob another way.

EDIT 5/29/2012: I now get to add a bunch to my glob!! A hit in Union County, PA...adds Union County, for 93, and enables me to hook up with Centre, Huntingdon, Blair, and Cambia Counties I hit previously in PA, for a total glob now covering 97 Counties.

EDIT: 6/3/2012: I just ogt a hit in Cortland County, NY - this hooks up with Broome County, NY and allows me to add Onondaga County, NY to my glob, so it is now at 99 Counties. Hey, wait...just noticed I can add Alexandria, VA for 100 Counties!!!

EDIT: 6/15/2012: With a hit in Frederick County, MD, I can add Frederick, MD, Washington, MD, and Berkeley, WV to my glob, so it is now up to 103 Counties, spanning 9 states plus DC.

EDIT 6/25/2012: Now a hit in Carroll County, MD, adds that to the glob, now at 104 counties over 9 states plus DC.

EDIT: 6/29/2012: Frederick County, VA makes 105.

EDIT: 7/29/2012: Harford County, MD makes 106.

EDIT: 9/9/2012: I get to add TEN counties to my glob today!! A hit in Chenango county, NY, enables me to hook up a glob of 9 other NY counties to my glob by way of Broome County.
