State #3 - California

My home state of NY was real easy for state #1, and VA for state #2 was easy via trade with dctim, so in a way CA for state #3 feels like my first new one.

Nice one a long way from home!

My first "not tri-state" hit (as you well know, Alan, in my area, we would consider PA/NJ/NY to be the tri-state) my first one out of that area was Massachusetts, I think...let me check....yup.

My new home, North Carolina, was not achieved until State #12.

Yeah, nearby states are easy for me too. PA and OH have my largest amount of WG hits outside of NY, with MA and MI close behind. (CA and FL are in the same class as MA and MI, even though they're far away, because of their size I guess) I have a slight boost in the DC area because I lived in one of its VA suburbs for a few months.

One of the reasons North Carolina is so high for me is my frequent trips to the area in preparation for our eventual move there.

Virginia is on the way there, and gets a fair number of hits, along with Maryland.

Florida got a lot of hits from a vacation a few years ago.

Illinois also has several hits on my list, and this is because I have many relatives in Illinois, and so make fairly frequent trips there, too.

VA might also get a boost for being a fairly big state in general. I've also got a bunch of hit sin TX, which is nowhere near me.

I used to live in TX, but that was before I was ever involved with currency tracking.

TX has two or three of the top ten cities nationwide (not sure if San Antonio has remained on the list at #10 or not) for that reason alone, I would imagine a fair number of bills make their way to TX.

Sorry if it wasn't clear, but I meant that both VA and TX (amongst others) would get a boost for being big states in general.

Note here: Top ten includes 3 from CA, 3 from TX, 1 each from AZ, IL, NY, PA

Austin (TX) continues the list at #11
Jacksonville (FL)

Columbus (OH)
Fort Worth (TX)
Charlotte (NC)
Detroit (MI)
El Paso (TX)

Minneapolis (MN)
Cleveland (OH)
Wichita (KS)
Arlington (TX)

Top 50: CA-8, TX-7, AZ-3, CO-2, FL-2, NC-2, OH-2, OK-2, 1 each: DC, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, VA, WA, WI

Here's my source:  http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0763098.html
You'll note THEIR source is the US Census Bureau

To put this in perspective - 15 of the top 50 are in CA and TX alone.
To put this in perspective - 21 of the top 50 are in AZ, CA and TX alone.
To put this in perspective - 28 of the top 50 are in CA, TX, AZ, CO, FL, NC, OH and OK

Virginia has only ONE of the top 50. Same for PA (was surprised to see Pittsburgh fell off the list)
New York only has ONE. Illinois has ONE.

Point being...some of those states we THINK of as being "big" states...does not really bear out.
