What rules does TD have? Empty What rules does TD have?

I understand there aren't so many rules around here, but what are there?

A major part of the appeal here is being able to do things Hank wouldn't let you do. For example:

I got started with 4 TD wilds from Kalisiin. I hit bills sent through the mail and I took marked bills to a bank.

Can I use a zipcode besides the one I'm in? (I may want to use the one where I got the bill or will spend it)

Can I enter bills I don't have right now? (I may want to enter bills I had recently)

PS
Hank is categorically opposed to multiple entries, and being able to enter up to 20 bills at once here makes things much easier.

Well, one rule would be to treat everyone civilly.

Two...you probably should not have hit the bills I sent you - there's no rule against it...but when I trade with others here (and here mail trades are allowed) the understanding is that thetraded bills are not hit by the parties involved. Because you are new here, you would not have known that...so no biggie.

Generally, you should, as with WG? - enter bills as the zipcode your butt is planted in at the moment of entry. We, too, like accuracy in tracking.

Generally, you should have posession of bills you enter, but I am not sure if there is a hard and fast rule on this.

I hope you like it here, Alan.

I figured the hits were OK since it was a real transaction, rather than mailing bills just to get them hit.

It's okay this time. But in the future, if you and I trade/sell, etc...please do not hit my TD bills, likewise I would nothit yours. This is a personal rule with me...not a TD rule.

These are only Kalisiin's rules. Here is how i do things. I will mark bills i get through the mail, unless the other party requests otherwise. I mark my bills in the zip code received them in, because in my eyes, that is where the bill started it's journey with me. I have deposited marked bills in the bank. I also have made large purchases with marked bills. I recommended that you use this site for you own reasons, not how someone tells you to use it. I hope that helps.

There are no restrictions on user notes, although PG-13 is encouraged. If something especially offensive shows up, ping Markus and ask him to remove the comment.

Scoring is quite a bit different here. 1 point for each bill entered. 1 point plus a factor depending on your current hit rate when a bill gets hit.

Nice to *see* you, Alan. I remember you from my days at WG.

I THOUGHT I made that fairly clear, Electric Red.
We all know you hate me but was that necessary?

Basically, there are no hard and fast rules here and I said as much.

But there ARE a few matters of common courtesy which should be followed here, even if they AREN'T rules.
Of course, you seem to know little of common courtesy towards people you have decided in your own mind are rotten people.

Will you EVER get over your self-righteousness where I am concerned?

We had a freaking misunderstanding, some hard words were passed, I have made SEVERAL attempts to apologize for it, and you will acknowledge none of it, and you continue your little needling crusade of me in public every chance you get.

So it is is time we laid this bare, Red.

We had a misunderstanding over the old County Challenge - which had scoring, points, winners, losers.  It was a mistake to ever do it that way.  It created hard feelings on many fronts.  I have as much as admitted that it had been a mistake to do it that way SEVERAL times.

This is why we now have the COOPERATIVE County Challenge, and why there are no points, no scoring, no winners, no losers.

Harsh words were passed between both of us.  You decided at that point that I was some horrible, rotten awful person, and you quit the Contest, said some awful things about me, and have since refused to take part in the new Cooperative Challenge - which of course is your choice.

I have several times since made overtures to you via PM apologizng for what happened then...and inviting you to participate in the County Challenge.  You have ignored every single message I have sent.

I have continued to congratulate you when you get good hits and new states. Publicly I have shown you nothing but kindness and courtesy.

You, on the other hand, have continued to take little jabs at me in public every single chance you have had.  And I have had enough.
If you want to go on hating me and thinking I am a rotten, horrible person, that is your right.  But the constant jabbing at me in public, every single chance you get...needs to stop.

No, there ARE no rules here concerning civility, per se...at least none written down - but the rules of decent human interaction would dictate civility...which you have rejected towards me for now going on two years.

You seem to have a serious problem with forgiveness, Red.  I will continue to send positive energies and karma in your direction, hoping against hope, that one day you will have a change of heart, and decide to finally accept my apologies and move on.

In this context, by mark do you mean enter and by get do you mean send?

I can see the logic on zipcode where one gets the bill as opposed to zipcode where it's entered._

Sorry Alan, I meant to say hit. I will hit marked bills I receive in the mail, unless the other party requests otherwise.

THIS is why I LOVE trackdollar.com. The operator of the site pretty much lets the users do what they want, as long as the actions of the users aren't going to cause problems for the site.

Yeah, sometimes Hank seems to be paranoid about what counts as a problems for the site.

In all honesty, this is one reason I like TD better myself.
Also, here, all the cool features are free.

In Hank's defense, however...bandwidth isn't free, and he has far more users, hence more bandwidth.

As to Hank's "paranoia" - again, in his defense, he DID get a visit from the Secret Service once about this stuff.

As one who ALSO was invited to be interrogated by the Secret Service, I can assure you that is a very scary situation to be in. I wouldn't want to go thru it again.

In my case, I made an intemperate remark about the President on a Forum Board. Someone reported it to the Secret Service. I got invited, via email, to present myself for interrogation by the Secret Service. I figured I'd go, since I had nothing to hide, and since...if I made them come for me, things would probably go worse.

After about 45 minutes of intense interrogation, I was let go...my remark on the Forum having been deemed to be no actual threat.

This happened back in 2001. I will never forget the experience...and have no wish to repeat it. So I can understand Hank's "paranoia" to some degree.

True.
Totally understandable that Hank wants to avoid the Feds again.
Yeah, TD's free featureset wouldn't scale to a WG-level userbase.
