The "official" re-assign Puerto Rico hits to proper Zip Codes thread

Post  dctim on Mon Jan 09, 2012 9:49 am

I figured I would start a thread about this since there are at least 3 "international" hits that could be re-assigned to PR.

PR Zip Code Reference

Darrel goes to San Juan - 00921

dctim goes to Lares - 00669

Kalisiin goes to Juana Díaz - 00795

Thank you thank you thank you so much for doing this thread dctim!!

I have several times had to send notes to Markus asking him to change my PR hits.

This is a great place to put all these, so that Markus can have them all in the same place, and get to them when he can.

Instead of getting bombed with emails all the time, he can come here and see the ones that need to be changed.

Would be nice if we could get official Canada zip codes too, instead of those international things.

I never HAVE gotten a Canada map on my profile, though I had the canada hit ages ago...you have any idea what gives with that?

You are not the only one that does not have Canada working - I don't know why, since mine works.

I have asked Markus to fix my PR hit before now - not because I really care for myself, but because I don't like the world hit map showing the 3 PR hits as occurring in Svalbard Norway.

Well, I wish we could solve the Canada problem....

Hello everybody,

I know long time, life keeps me pretty busy right now. And yes I know, I need to enter more bills ;-)

I changed all the PR zip codes.

As for the canada map. This map is only triggered to update when running the Regions by Country report.
I triggered the creation of the canada map for Kalisiin manually.

To update the map click on "Hit by Country" in My Hits, then click on Canada. About 5 minutes later the map is updated. I never wrote a real time update for all international regions because of too much background process time.

Thanks, Markus! This rocks, now I have my Canada Map in my profile!

Sometime, it might be fun (after all the states are done) - to do a Europe Map and an Asia Map and an Africa Map and a Central America Map and a South America Map and an Australia/Oceania Map.

This is just food for thought, an idea, a wish list...but the states should come first!

I have another one

Bayamon, PR

Bayamon, PR is US Zip 00956 - 00961

This is currently showing up International - and as a result, PR is not changing color for me on my US Map.

So, 00738, instead? How did you determine that? Both the map and the city designation of the hit seem to say Puerto Real.

In either case, I will ask Markus to get to this when he can.

There IS NO Municipalite called Puerto Real. I looked up on Zip-Codes.com the town of Puerto Real...and discovered it was the zip code 00740...and in the Municipalite of Fujardo.

You DID know "Municipalites" are the equivalent to what we would call a COUNTY...right??

So the hit is in Puerto Real, Puerto Rico, Municipalite of Fujardo...zip 00740

Look at a list of all 78 of Puerto Rico's Municipalites (county equivalents) and you won't find Puerto Real!
