Hummm...do you routinely drop that many TWENTIES in the same place to where they might travel together?
If so, I'd sure like YOUR pocketbook!

Personally, I'd leave it up to Markus on if he would want to restrict or suggest against this kind of transaction.

My interpretation of what he has said would lead ME to not pay a large transaction with that many Twenties.

I am curently considering purchasing a new refrigerator. The Fridge will be close to $ 900 with tax and I am thinking 9 marked Bens might be in order, but I might resort to credit/debit because I don't care to be spending hundreds.

I'll post if I may, because this exact subject is what brought me here in the first place.

There was a thread at WG where someone brought up paying a car repair bill and made a poll based on how they should pay it. One of the options was paying with 14 marked $100 bills, because the bill was $2800.

I was okay with this. The majority of WG, including Hank, was not.

The reason I am okay with that, is because many users of the two dollar bill have said they used as many as 20 at one time to pay a bill. As most of you know, twos generally go straight back to the bank. I presume $100 bills would as well, so I obviously was fine with that.

Hank disagreed, and said he should not mark more than two of the $100 bills, for the same reason I already mentioned.

I pointed out to Hank that numerous people had already brought up how they paid with as many twos, and considering how 2s, 50s, and 100s share similar circulation paths, why he wasn't jumping all over people who spent more than 2 twos at once.

Hank got mad, deleted my last post, which I basically said his logic made no sense, and closed the thread. In his final reply, he said something about me not reading the rules and how dumping is explicitly stated in the rules. To me, dumping being "explicitly stated" should imply an exact number. All it says is dumping is not allowed. What constitutes dumping....who knows...

That said, I know mortgages generally deal with banks, but many banks in my area have separate mortgage payment places that aren't banks. If he paid his mortgage at one of those places, fine. If he paid at a real bank, then I would say it's a violation of the rules, although I wouldn't care as long as it wasn't excessive (every single bill is marked and it's a ton of bills). It's not up for me to decide, that's just my opinion on it.

I didn't realize that there were any "Rules" to follow. i have looked all over the site and I can't find any thing about "rules". Last time I checked, WG had all the "rules", which is why I was glad that I found a bill by Dr. William Stamper and came to this site and re-entered it here instead of finding a bill for WG. I mark every bill I get my hands on. When I cash my checks I always get 100 in 1's and the rest in 5's, 10's, & 20's, just so I can mark them. I thought this was how it was supposed to be. What's the point in marking and tracking bills if I can't spend them where and how I want?

I agree, Jackson. I just bought a new computer at Best Buy. The cashier and shift manager had a lot of marked $1 bills to count. geek
