I'm UtahnBirder, one of Kalisiins good friends. I'm an extremely active WheresGeorger. She directed me to switch to this site. I doubt I will, since I've already put so much time forth and made good friendships at WG?, but I thought I would give this forum and website a fair chance. I won't be entering any bills (all my stamps say wheresgeorge.com!) but I will be trying to spend some time on the forums.

I'm mostly interested in hitrates and turnaround. It's not looking good considering only about 7 bills have ever been entered in Utah EVER, but maybe that isn't a good statistic to be looking at. I'll let you tell me.

Hey there! Nice to see ya on TD. Give the hit rates a little more time to gather some steam. I was one of the first users to get a hit in UT, in American Fork. That was a few months ago. This site has not been on as long as WG...but it is chugging along and I am seeing more and more users coming on. Hope you decide to enter some bills on here one of these days and check out the maps and such. All information is completely free on here, so maps and charts pop up on your profile as the hits come in.

Thanks Kalisiin for referring someone here!

Hope you like what ya see!

Good to see you here, UtahnBirder! I hope you will like what you see here enough that, even if you don't switch completely over...that you do occasionally enter some bills here. Hey, you alone could drive up the Utah hits bigtime!!
Although I would say that I suggested you check this site out, not "directed" - I'm just a stickler for semantics...but I digress!

As to hitrates, I can only give you my experience, and this is dual-marking, I have just over 1300 bills in...and 21 hits...which is comparable to what I had on WG with the same amount of bills entered (the 2,000 mark is where things just EXPLODED) But, 21 hits in the first month on this site...not bad!! 21 hits and six states. I don't think I even did that good on WG?

Here's my experience, with my dual-marked bills....some people seem to hit them only at WG? a few have hit them ONLY at TD...and a few hit them at both sites. This tells me that, if I sent out bills marked only for TD...people would hit them.

Yes, it's a smaller, newer, lesser-known site than WG? but people still DO hit bills here.

Anyway...I do hope you like what you see, and I am glad you have decided to give this here a try. Even if you just entered one bill for every 5 at WG? here...just so you could get a few hits, and see what happens....but your decision.

Check out my profile, and others here. The basic advantages here are that all the maps, charts and graphs are free here, (no seven bucks a month, like over there) Also, no waiting for report refreshes...or running out of refreshes in the middle of a week...all hits are automatically tabulated to your account, and the system updates on an every two hours cycle....so you could get a hit, and have it not show up in your maps/graphs....until the next refresh cycle...which happens every two hours.

anyways, welcome here!!

P.S. I'm gonna make you an offer ya can't refuse...and just for you, and just because you are my friend and referral...if and when you decide you'd like to enter some bills here...I will buy you up to 10 dollars worth of TD stamps. Even though I am unemployed and can ill-afford it, I will do this, just for you. I'll do it for you, because you are my referral, and because you are my friend. And because you've always been good to me, even in the face of some unpleasant times which we won't discuss.

I am glad you are here, U.B. and thanks for taking the time to check out TrackDollar.

While there are some similarities with other currency tracking sites, there are some nice differences, as well.

Every map and chart that is generated by the software is FREE to every user. No monthly payments required. While the owner would very much appreciate a donation, the features don't turn off just because you can't afford to pay for them.

We don't get all bothered with "pure" circulation. That can be good or bad, depending on your viewpoint. There is no such thing as a favorites list over here. If you want to hit a bunch of bills from another user, it is no big deal. This site is about having fun. If you like to trade - go and do so.

Those who are active here try our best to be nonconfrontational with other currency tracking sites. That is not to say there hasn't been a comment or opinion that other places might not enjoy. Certainly, there have been comments elsewhere about TrackDollar. Far be it from me to tell anyone what to think, but I certainly would appreciate the courtesy that you have shown.

I hope you stick around and give TrackDollar a shot.

Please realize I am NOT here to enter bills or become active here. However I do want to check it out. If I like what I see more than I like what I see at WG?, and the switch would be worth the loss of hits that I've raised until this point for me, I'll switch, but don't get your hopes up.
Kalisiin: Please don't go buying me stamps. For two reasons, one is I will barely ever use them, if at all, and two because I really wouldn't feel right asking someone who's tight on cash to buy me something superfluous like that.

I hope to be more of an ambassador to trackdollar for WG?. I really DO want to keep everything friendly between Hank and whoever the admin is here.

I said that i'd buy you the stamps IF you went and changed. Not about to do it now.
And you could do like I am, too...enter bills at both sites...just enter MORE or MOST of your bills on the site you like better.
I am going to quit dual-entering and stamping, and I am going to START entering about 3 here for every one there.
And, Utahn...don't worry about my cash situation, it looks as if this will be turning around very shortly...it is all but certain that next week, I will be signing a contract with a doctor, making him the very first client of my new business...and he can open the doors for me to a lot of other doctors, because he has a very good reputation in the medical field in Central Jersey.
More than with any other business...in the medical field, word of mouth is EVERYTHING. So it looks like things are going to be turning around.
Of course, it will be quite some time before I'm actually able to pay myself a salary, I'll need to out a lot of the initial money coming in into working capital for my business, so there won't be much yet for ME. But things look on the threshhold of turning for the better for me.

BTW, you don't "lose" your hits, ever, unless you are Hanked and your account is suspended. But even then, you just can't see the hits. They are always there for ever in WG history unless there are problems like fake hits and they have to erase them for inaccuracy.

Yeah, but I know what he's getting at, because that was MY initial resistance to coming over here, too. Because there were about 2,000 bills (at the time) that I stood to "lose" because they would only get hits at WG and not HERE. and there was nothing I could do to recover those 2,000 bills (believe me, if I could I would have!!)

So then you, Dave, suggested dual-entering and marking, and I thought that would work out fairly well, so I did that for a month...now Hank is complaining over on the other site that my bills are overmarked, and threatened to Hank me over it (one of the basic reasons I came here in the first place - fear of Hank) Hank REALLY doesn't want me dual-entering bills, he made that pretty clear...and told me if he got any more user notes about overmarked bills, he would Hank me...to which I replied it wouldn't be fair of him to do so...if the comment came on a bill entered PRIOR to the date of his so informing me (to which he never replied) - but the fact is there are "overmarked" bills out there now (I don't think they are overmarked) that I no longer have control over...and I can't control what other people decide to put in the user notes.

I told Hank that I would stop dual-entering bills on WG, so that the number of stamps would be reduced a bit, BUT, also told him that it would be unfair to penalize me for bills already out there, over which I no longer have control...to which he didn't reply. Once again, my fear of Hank is entirely justified.

SO...to make a long story short, I have decided to step up my plans of transitioning to TD over WG? because I don't like to live in fear and have threats dangled over my head all the time. It's a shame, because I enjoyed WG - until some people ruined it for me. But I've decided to start NOW...instead of in January, as I had planned...I'm going to start entering about 3 bills here for every ONE over there.

Once the hits really get going here, I'll probably stop entering any bills over there, except for any wilds I might encounter. I just wish I didn't feel so threatened bby Hank, but I do. Face it, HE...and he alone...has the power to take away an enjoyable hobby. That does not seem right. There's too many unwritten rules...too many arbitrary rules...too many "pets" who get special treatment...I'm just glad TD is here as an alternative.

Keep things friendly? Well, a little late for that. I wouldn't call it an all out war but is clear there is some indifference. I don't see how duel entering would be a problem? If it is then go with the site that didn't kick you off. You just should never mention trackdollar in any WG user notes. H would consider it advertising. And ya, I have a certain fear of H as well. I feel like I could get kicked off for some rule I broke that isn't written in the rules or he might do so just because he feels like it someday. I don't feel that way with Markus. He told me that he cannot see trackdollar going away in the next 20 years. That sounds pretty sound to me but I heard no such statement from H that his site would be around in 20 years. If you really want to give this site a fair chance well you have to enter some bills on it. I think if you compared this site to any other tracking site out there (trackmycash,WG) and were really honest with yourself about what site was best you would pick this one. It is not like you have to delete your other account(s). Not at all. You can keep it, keep getting your hits and at the same time build up your hits here. So far the only one I know of that Markus kicked off is The Barron. A user who made a bunch of fake entries. Markus knew the entries were fake WAY before he kicked that person off. I am pretty sure I know who that person likely was and I think most people here do too. As long as you have legit entries it is very unlikely you will ever, ever get kicked off of trackdollar.
